Dráusio Vargas struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Tales Magalhães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ibiam. Ulisses Freitas hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Álvaro da Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Tales Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulisses Freitas in the 21st minute of play forced Ibiam's goalkeeper Fernan Rodriguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dráusio Vargas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Tales Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Attilio Berardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ibiam's supporters rose to their feet, but Attilio Berardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tales Magalhães breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Paraná SUL booed when Ibiam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Attilio Berardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Ibiam's Álvaro da Silveira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tales Magalhães made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 46th minute, Ibiam's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Wilton de Souza fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Claudinei Toscano made a kick off. Tales Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dráusio Vargas in the 52nd minute of play. Dráusio Vargas was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 55th minute. Ibiam's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Ulisses Freitas hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Ibiam made a substitution. Túlio Leão replaced Álvaro da Silveira. After a rather tough play, Paraná SUL's Ulisses Freitas got a free kick in the 58th minute. When Valério Neiva came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Ibiam fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valério Neiva couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Paraná SUL's zone, Túlio Leão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tales Magalhães came out of the goal and Túlio Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Túlio Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Tales Magalhães came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Ibiam's Sandrinho Valadares. But to his dismay, Sandrinho Valadares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 69th minute Afonso Esteves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernan Rodriguez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Attilio Berardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Tales Magalhães made a huge save. Attilio Berardo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 79th playminute. Tales Magalhães made an important save on a dangerous shot by Attilio Berardo in the 82nd minute. If Dráusio Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Túlio Leão who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 89thth minute tested the skills of Tales Magalhães when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Humberto Paranaense took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fernan Rodriguez. Ibiam's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Paraná SUL's Tales Magalhães got control of the ball when Túlio Leão tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ibiam played a much better game than Paraná SUL and deserved their victory. The Paraná SUL players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
