An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Loyola in the 19th minute of play forced Filadélfia FC's goalkeeper Albertino Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Perrexil SS's Carlos Alberto Toledo got control of the ball when Pedro Luís Massa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 21st match minute, Perrexil SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeu Mattos to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the match, Jeremias Loyola notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Filadélfia FC's Albertino Amaral. Albertino Amaral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Perrexil SS's Carlos Alberto Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chico Correia in the 27th minute of play. After 32 minutes of play, Perrexil SS's Jefferson Pombal made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Albertino Amaral was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pedro Luís Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. After 40 played minutes Perrexil SS got a freekick which was hit by Bruninho dos Santos. If Jeremias Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jeremias Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Albertino Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jefferson Pombal struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Albertino Amaral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perrexil SS.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jeremias Loyola made a kick off. If Chico Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Filadélfia FC's Waldemar Galvão got a free kick in the 58th minute. Carlos Alberto Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chico Correia, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 68th match minute, Perrexil SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomé Macedo to maneuver through the defense. Chico Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cláudio Vander during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Perrexil SS reached it. Jefferson Pombal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Perrexil SS were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
