Perivaldo Aparecido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldinho Simões, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Rony Cardoso might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Válter Teles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rony Cardoso ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 65th minute of the match, Rony Cardoso got a very nice opportunity to score, but Válter Teles was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Válter Teles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kléberson Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 70th minute, Gilmar Goiano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Válter Teles was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Thanks to some nice moves Rony Cardoso could shoot a difficult shot in the 96th minute, which Válter Teles however easily saved by the left post. BIRMINGHAM's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
