Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Waldir Teixeira kicked off to start the match. Ubaieira's Charles da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Pedro Pernambucano in the 7th minute of play. Frank Valladares didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 9th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. When Waldir Teixeira came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Ubaieira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Waldir Teixeira couldn't finish the play. In the 22nd minute, João Pedro Pernambucano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Zé Roberto Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Walmyr Ceresso received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Frank Valladares came out and tried to block the shot, but Walmyr Ceresso slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 35th minute. Grêmio dos Canudos EC's Frank Valladares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Grêmio dos Canudos EC from getting a goal against them. Frank Valladares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldir Teixeira in the 42nd minute of play. Ubaieira's Charles da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerônimo Proença in the 44th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Pedro Pernambucano made a kick off. In the 51st match minute, Grêmio dos Canudos EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dênis Pires to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Augusto Viana, 52 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 57th minute, Zé Roberto Silveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Frank Valladares was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After 63 played minutes, Ubaieira's Renan Pereira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Frank Valladares came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ubaieira reached it. Zé Roberto Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute, Hílton Tróia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 80 played minutes Ubaieira got a freekick which was hit by Valdo Vale. Waldir Teixeira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frank Valladares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. After 87 minutes, Walmyr Ceresso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ubaieira and the Grêmio dos Canudos EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 87th minute, Walmyr Ceresso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ubaieira's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
