Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Edu Arruda got the match started through his kick off. With a little luck, Sport Recife's Jorginho Eger got control of the ball when Sílvio Rosado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jorginho Eger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doni Linhares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 8 minutes into the match, Lider S FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edu Arruda came free, but Delfim Urbano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Doni Linhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Jorginho Eger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sport Recife's goalkeeper Jorginho Eger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sílvio Rosado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Jorginho Eger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lider S FC's Sílvio Rosado got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Moisés Mattos was extremely unlucky when he, in the 24th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. A collision led to Sport Recife getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Dino Vasconcelos hit a great ball. In the 30th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Edu Pontes hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. Jorginho Eger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Doni Linhares's shot from short distance in the 48th minute.

Delfim Urbano was out of position in the 52 minute of play, and Edu Arruda capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edu Arruda really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. If Edu Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorginho Eger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doni Linhares in the 61st minute of the match. Edu Pontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Jorginho Eger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edu Arruda in the 68th minute of play forced Lider S FC's goalkeeper Delfim Urbano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 68 minutes, Edu Pontes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lider S FC and the Sport Recife players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Sport Recife's zone, Sílvio Rosado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorginho Eger came out of the goal and Sílvio Rosado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Doni Linhares might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorginho Eger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Doni Linhares ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Sport Recife's Rogério Lima slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Delfim Urbano. That made the score 0-2 after 83 minutes of play. Moisés Mattos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Jorginho Eger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Luiz Guilherme Veloso fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sport Recife's protests and gave Luiz Guilherme Veloso a yellow card for diving instead.
