Diguinho Alcântara hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, KANGAL FC's Durval Bezerra got a free kick in the 9th minute. Fiori Cardozo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Gualter Cearense made a huge save. Juvenal de Godoi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leonel Macedo went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Juvenal de Godoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Travassos, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. If Durval Bezerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fiori Cardozo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Gualter Cearense made a huge save. 26 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro EC's goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Macedo came free, but Juvenal de Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gualter Cearense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raí de Brito in the 28th minute of play. With a little luck, KANGAL FC's Gualter Cearense got control of the ball when Fiori Cardozo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leandro Travassos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Juvenal de Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leonel Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cruzeiro EC's Juvenal de Godoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Travassos in the 35th minute of play. Serafim Terra charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Serafim Terra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in KANGAL FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 39th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 41 minutes, Cruzeiro EC's Nilmar Leite got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Gualter Cearense. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Raí de Brito made a kick off. Leandro Travassos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 53rd minute, Diguinho Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gualter Cearense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fiori Cardozo in the 59th minute of play. Cruzeiro EC's Juvenal de Godoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Macedo in the 62nd minute of play. Fiori Cardozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualter Cearense having to interfere. Gualter Cearense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raí de Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Cruzeiro EC's Raí de Brito in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye KANGAL FC's goalie prevented a goal. Gualter Cearense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raí de Brito in the 73rd minute of play. Victor do Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Cruzeiro EC's zone, Leonel Macedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juvenal de Godoi came out of the goal and Leonel Macedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raí de Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualter Cearense having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro EC's goalkeeper Juvenal de Godoi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leandro Travassos. After 95 minutes, Leopoldo Rocha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cruzeiro EC and the KANGAL FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 95 played minutes Cruzeiro EC got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Rocha. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
