Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Raúl Matorin took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in CR Vasco da Gama's zone, Raúl Matorin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurício Tande came out of the goal and Raúl Matorin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raúl Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Tande having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Roger Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot. CR Vasco da Gama's supporters rose to their feet, but Roger Paraibano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richard Senna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Horácio Prado struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Richard Senna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CR Vasco da Gama. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind CR Vasco da Gama's goalkeeper Maurício Tande, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 24 minutes, Roger Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CR Vasco da Gama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roger Paraibano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cleiton Meira in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maurício Tande prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Raúl Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Raúl Matorin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roger Paraibano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Richard Senna having to make a save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Horácio Prado to make the kick off. Raúl Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maurício Tande showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cleiton Meira in the 55th minute of the match. In the 55th match minute, CR Vasco da Gama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fabiano Veiga to maneuver through the defense. If Raúl Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cleiton Meira struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Maurício Tande didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deliberador AD. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raúl Matorin in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Maurício Tande saved CR Vasco da Gama from getting behind. Horácio Prado might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Richard Senna. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Horácio Prado ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 67th minute Raúl Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurício Tande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raúl Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CR Vasco da Gama's Maurício Tande played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raúl Matorin in the 72nd minute of play. Maurício Tande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raúl Matorin, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 76th match minute, CR Vasco da Gama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fabiano Veiga to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute Cleiton Meira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurício Tande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to CR Vasco da Gama getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Luís Gustavo Melo hit a great ball. Maurício Tande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cleiton Meira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Gustavo Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Horácio Prado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Senna having to interfere. Richard Senna made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roger Paraibano in the 95th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
