In the 20th minute, Ismael Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Elano de Barros, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Júlio Araújo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Elano de Barros when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 31 minutes into the game, Júlio Araújo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Elano de Barros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ismael Soares's late challenge caught a BAHIA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ismael Soares helped the player get up and apologised. After 34 played minutes Bagual Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Soares. Elano de Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Clóvis Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Elano de Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elano de Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jânio Fonseca in the 42nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Bagual Futebol Clube's zone, Jânio Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elano de Barros came out of the goal and Jânio Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elano de Barros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Júlio Araújo's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Júlio Araújo made the kick off in the second half. BAHIA's Júlio Araújo got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nildo Fernandes was a little too slow when Donato Vargas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 1-1. Nildo Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ian Carvalho in the 60th minute of the match. When Júlio Araújo came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the BAHIA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júlio Araújo couldn't finish the play. BAHIA's Allan de Godoi got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Júlio Araújo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elano de Barros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute, Dráuzio Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Bagual Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. In the 80thth minute of the game Júlio Araújo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bagual Futebol Clube's Elano de Barros was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 81 played minutes BAHIA got a freekick which was hit by Jânio Fonseca. In the 83rd minute, Allan de Godoi had to leave the field with a concussion. BAHIA made a substitution.
