Décio Lima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Nildo Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ademar Falcão charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ademar Falcão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 6 played minutes Rasteira got a freekick which was hit by Ademar Falcão. Ademar Falcão was shown his second yellow card after 21 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Ademar Falcão kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. José Carneiro was a little too slow when Clóvis Simões got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 2-0. 29 minutes into the game, Allan de Godoi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BAHIA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rasteira the free kick. Allan de Godoi kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Clóvis Simões struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. José Carneiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BAHIA. Clóvis Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 36 minutes into the match, BAHIA's Allan de Godoi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Carneiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luisinho Ortiz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Carneiro having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Rasteira's Afonso Palmeira got a free kick in the 39th minute. José Carneiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clóvis Simões, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The supporters of Rasteira booed when BAHIA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Allan de Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Luisinho Ortiz notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Rasteira's José Carneiro. José Carneiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Décio Lima was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Allan de Godoi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Carneiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. In the 57th minute, Luisinho Ortiz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Carneiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. When Luisinho Ortiz came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the BAHIA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luisinho Ortiz couldn't finish the play. Allan de Godoi might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Carneiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Allan de Godoi ran back to his position shaking his head. If Allan de Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luisinho Ortiz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 71 minutes, Paulão Borges mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rasteira and the BAHIA players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Rasteira getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Paulão Borges hit a great ball. Luisinho Ortiz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Allan de Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Allan de Godoi in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Carneiro saved Rasteira from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Allan de Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. BAHIA's supporters rose to their feet, but Allan de Godoi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Carneiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Allan de Godoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Carneiro having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Rasteira's zone, Clóvis Simões stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Carneiro came out of the goal and Clóvis Simões tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clóvis Simões struck a weak shot in the 86th minute.
