The supporters of Faccio Club booed when Infernales was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murilo Arce didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by João Paulo da Fonseca from long distance, 59 minutes into the match, got Aírton Guimarães's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ivo Alcântara got free with Aírton Guimarães in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Juvenal da Rocha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sandro Siqueira's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute.
