The player immediately received a yellow card. 9 minutes into the game, Cido Custódio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ibirarema.CiTy.F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Goitacazes the free kick. Goitacazes's Alexsandro Peres got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benjamin Bezerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinaldo Nascimento in the 11th minute of play. Alexsandro Peres scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benjamin Bezerra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ibirarema.CiTy.F.C's goalkeeper Benjamin Bezerra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Reinaldo Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Goitacazes's Alexsandro Peres in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Reinaldo Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Bezerra having to interfere. João Hoffmann received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pedro Luiz de Sousa came out and tried to block the shot, but João Hoffmann slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 34th minute. Ibirarema.CiTy.F.C's Benjamin Bezerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexsandro Peres in the 40th minute of play. Benjamin Bezerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexsandro Peres in the 42nd minute of play. João Hoffmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Pedro Luiz de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reinaldo Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 48 minutes, Alexsandro Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goitacazes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexsandro Peres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alexsandro Peres was the one to do the kick off. João Hoffmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alex Debruyne kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Pedro Luiz de Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Hoffmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benjamin Bezerra stood somewhat misplaced when Alexsandro Peres came free in front of goal and shot 2-2 to the left of him in the 67 minute. Reinaldo Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ibirarema.CiTy.F.C's zone, Reinaldo Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamin Bezerra came out of the goal and Reinaldo Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alexsandro Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute, João Hoffmann ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Luiz de Sousa was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. In the 94th minute, Cido Custódio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Luiz de Sousa having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ibirarema.CiTy.F.C fans cheered their team off the field, for while Goitacazes had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
