Pomarola F C's Edgard de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexsandro Peres in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexsandro Peres in the 20th minute of play forced Pomarola F C's goalkeeper Edgard de Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgard de Queirós made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reinaldo Nascimento in the 21st minute. Pedro Luiz de Sousa came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Pomarola F C's Décio Abraão. But to his dismay, Décio Abraão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Pedrinho Melo fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pomarola F C's protests and gave Pedrinho Melo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Pomarola F C getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Pedrinho Melo hit a great ball. Pedrinho Melo kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Pomarola F C's Edgard de Queirós proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Pomarola F C from getting a goal against them. When Goitacazes's Alexsandro Peres in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The corner ended in Dário Queiroz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Pomarola F C's Edgard de Queirós did a great save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reinaldo Nascimento in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgard de Queirós prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 91 minutes into the game, Goitacazes's Reinaldo Nascimento nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edgard de Queirós made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Edgard de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexsandro Peres in the 97th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Goitacazes fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pomarola F C had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
