Adriano de Amaral might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dorival Maciel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto de Sena in the 15th minute of play forced Massape EC's goalkeeper Dorival Maciel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adriano de Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorival Maciel having to interfere. Régis de Amaral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Richard Souza made a huge save. If Fausto de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th match minute, Massape EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Alves to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Ubanheira's Eugênio Albuquerque tried to score from far away in the 81st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Fausto de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Dorival Maciel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 87 minutes, Durval Messias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ubanheira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Durval Messias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Fausto de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Despite being the better team, Ubanheira failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
