After a rather tough play, Santanna FC Clube's Gilmar Dionísio got a free kick in the 21st minute. Wágner Fontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Laerte Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Laerte Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wágner Fontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Samuel da Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laerte Galvão having to interfere. After having played for 47 minutes, Rubinho Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Warriors FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rubinho Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wágner Fontes was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Wágner Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Warriors FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wágner Fontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laerte Galvão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Wágner Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Wágner Fontes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Laerte Galvão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. But to his dismay, Wágner Fontes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Warriors FC's Wágner Fontes got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wágner Fontes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 92ndth minute tested the skills of Laerte Galvão when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Wágner Fontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Laerte Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute Wágner Fontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laerte Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Warriors FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Santanna FC Clube.
