Spectators: 6669 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1664, VIP seats: 5) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Valdo Coutinho took the kick off in the first half of the match. If Valdo Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arlindo Favoretto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdo Coutinho's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. The supporters of Damasio booed when Lobos Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kiko Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doni Freire in the 13th minute of the match. Doni Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kiko Cunha having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Durval Melo during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th minute, Durval Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Doni Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kiko Cunha having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Doni Freire's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kiko Cunha was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Afonso Barros struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Kiko Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lobos Futebol Clube. Valdo Coutinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Arlindo Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Francisco Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Monteiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arlindo Favoretto having to make a save. Doni Freire recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Doni Freire to make the kick off. After 57 played minutes Damasio got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Messias. 58 minutes into the match, Lobos Futebol Clube's Simão de Alcântara broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Kiko Cunha was out of position in the 61 minute of play, and Doni Freire capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Doni Freire really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Lobos Futebol Clube's Afonso Barros got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Doni Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Monteiro in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arlindo Favoretto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Damasio's Valdo Coutinho in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lobos Futebol Clube's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Damasio booed when Lobos Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilton Viana didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdo Coutinho in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arlindo Favoretto saved Lobos Futebol Clube from getting behind. Doni Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Kiko Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Doni Freire's late challenge caught a Damasio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Doni Freire helped the player get up and apologised. After 90 played minutes Lobos Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Doni Freire. 91 minutes into the match, Lobos Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Monteiro came free, but Arlindo Favoretto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 94 minutes into the game, Lobos Futebol Clube's Afonso Barros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kiko Cunha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Lobos Futebol Clube played a much better game than Damasio and deserved their victory. The Damasio players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
