In the 19th minute Afonso Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aílton Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Laércio Alvarenga struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Arlindo Favoretto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gonçalense F.C. If Afonso Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlinhos Teixeira kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Simão de Alcântara's late challenge caught a Gonçalense F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Simão de Alcântara helped the player get up and apologised. 33 minutes into the match, Lobos Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Eusébio Tande came free, but Arlindo Favoretto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Lobos Futebol Clube's Afonso Barros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aílton Almeida narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lobos Futebol Clube's Simão de Alcântara couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 50th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Gonçalense F.C. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Doni Freire made a kick off. Afonso Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlinhos Teixeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Arlindo Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Lobos Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Laércio Alvarenga came free, but Arlindo Favoretto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aílton Almeida made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Afonso Barros sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th minute Eusébio Tande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arlindo Favoretto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Gonçalense F.C booed when Lobos Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Guilherme Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eusébio Tande in the 90th managed to get into a good position. Arlindo Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 100th minute, Alfredo Braga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Gonçalense F.C had played much better football throughout.
