Amadeu Lago took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo José Guerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Naldo Recife's late challenge caught a Jerumirim's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Naldo Recife helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Pichuri's Naldo Recife got a free kick in the 95th minute. In the 96th minute Paulo José Guerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Lago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Dedê da Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Jerumirim fully deserved thier win.
