Spectators: 7212 (Terracing: 5410, Seating: 1659, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ian Pirani started the match with the kick off. Naldo Recife struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Tarcisio Sousa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pichuri. After 7 played minutes Faiz o B.O. got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Abraão. Pichuri's Alexsandro Linhares suffered a concussion in the 13th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Gabriel Moura fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Faiz o B.O.'s protests and gave Gabriel Moura a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th minute, Gabriel Moura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Faiz o B.O.'s zone, Naldo Recife stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tarcisio Sousa came out of the goal and Naldo Recife tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tarcisio Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Naldo Recife in the 21st minute of play. Arí Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Lago having to interfere. Arí Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tomé Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arí Alcântara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 43 minutes, Tomé Baptista mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Faiz o B.O. and the Pichuri players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 43rd match minute, Faiz o B.O. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomé Baptista to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute, Naldo Recife got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 49th minute of the match Pichuri got a corner. Faiz o B.O.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Doriva Godoi ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Faiz o B.O.'s goalie and right to Albertinho Novaes. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Faiz o B.O.'s manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After the first half Pichuri were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arí Alcântara made a kick off. If Arí Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arí Alcântara in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amadeu Lago prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arí Alcântara in the 71st minute of play forced Pichuri's goalkeeper Amadeu Lago to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Faiz o B.O. getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Gabriel Moura hit a great ball. With a little luck, Faiz o B.O.'s Tarcisio Sousa got control of the ball when Naldo Recife tried to sneak it across the goal line. Naldo Recife fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tarcisio Sousa having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Pichuri walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
