After 38 minutes of play, Coqueiros's Júlio Xavier made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Diguinho Galvão was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 44th minute Cristiano de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diguinho Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Coqueiros's zone, Toninho Bertassi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sérgio Tande came out of the goal and Toninho Bertassi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sérgio Tande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wiliam Nogueira in the 48th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Wiliam Nogueira made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Júlio Xavier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 65 minutes, Cristiano de Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coqueiros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristiano de Barros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Coqueiros booed when Clockwork Orange was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vito Coelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 73 played minutes Coqueiros got a freekick which was hit by Frederico Breckenfeld. In the 80th match minute, Coqueiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristiano de Barros to maneuver through the defense. 83 minutes into the match, Clockwork Orange's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Xavier came free, but Diguinho Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
