Gerson Dias scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Otávio Queiroz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerson Dias in the 10th minute of play forced América-RS's goalkeeper Otávio Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerson Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Otávio Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Raphael Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luizão do Valle in the 20th minute of play forced Turiassu's goalkeeper Anselmo Pitta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Gerson Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, América-RS's goal looked a bit too open when Raphael Soares came free, but Otávio Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. André Luís Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Otávio Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raphael Soares in the 29th minute of play. After having played for 31 minutes, Luizão do Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. América-RS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luizão do Valle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anselmo Pitta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizão do Valle in the 34th minute of the match. Gerson Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otávio Queiroz having to interfere. After the first half Turiassu were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raphael Soares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Gerson Dias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 64 minutes, Davi Alvarenga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Turiassu and the América-RS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Davi Alvarenga hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Luizão do Valle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Turiassu's Gerson Dias got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gerson Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Otávio Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Raphael Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raphael Soares struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Otávio Queiroz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Turiassu. Anselmo Pitta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luizão do Valle's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Gerson Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otávio Queiroz having to interfere. Turiassu's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
