After some careless play in the Catiara defense, Hortêncio Gomes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cléber Mello. The Catiara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cléber Mello should have stopped the shot. 42 minutes into the match, Vladimir Sanches had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cléber Mello. Catiara's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vladimir Sanches was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3.
