Pedro Augusto Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fred de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Túlio Marinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Pedro Augusto Schmidt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Túlio Marinho. Massape's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pedro Augusto Schmidt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After the first half Saideira Futebol Clube were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cássio Amorim to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Massape's zone, Pedro Augusto Schmidt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Túlio Marinho came out of the goal and Pedro Augusto Schmidt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Fred de Barros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Túlio Marinho was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Pedro Augusto Schmidt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Túlio Marinho made a huge save. 63 minutes into the game, Vitório Britto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Massape's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saideira Futebol Clube the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Massape fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 63rd minute. Penalty! In the 64th minute there was a penalty for Saideira Futebol Clube. Cristian Siqueira stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Túlio Marinho. 0-2. Saideira Futebol Clube's Fred de Barros got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Túlio Marinho was a little too slow when Richard Castro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 71st minute. The score was now 0-3. Túlio Marinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fred de Barros's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. In the 79th minute, Fred de Barros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Túlio Marinho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Carlos Cordeiro during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
