Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Marcinho Leme got the match started through his kick off. Kiko Marques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Duda Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erivaldo Monteiro's late challenge caught a Xambioa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erivaldo Monteiro helped the player get up and apologised. After 5 played minutes Guajaratuba got a freekick which was hit by Erivaldo Monteiro. With his leg Nelsinho Cabral managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when Guajaratuba's Elano Pereira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Xambioa's Nilmar Bastos got a free kick in the 8th minute. Paulo Renato Monteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 13 minutes into the match, Xambioa's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Renato Monteiro came free, but Nelsinho Cabral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kiko Marques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Elano Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duda Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcinho Leme in the 26th minute of play. After 26 played minutes Guajaratuba got a freekick which was hit by Mateus Maia. When Gino Fantini fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xambioa's protests and gave Gino Fantini a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Xambioa's zone, Paulo Renato Monteiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nelsinho Cabral came out of the goal and Paulo Renato Monteiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 36 minutes into the match, Guajaratuba's goal looked a bit too open when Marcinho Leme came free, but Duda Magalhães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elano Pereira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Nelsinho Cabral when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Xambioa's Marcinho Leme got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 41 minutes into the game, Armandinho Queirós was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Xambioa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guajaratuba the free kick. The supporters of Guajaratuba booed when Xambioa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armandinho Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute of the match Paulo José Baptista shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nelsinho Cabral showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Elano Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo Renato Monteiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Duda Magalhães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcinho Leme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd minute, Erivaldo Monteiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kiko Marques could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Duda Magalhães made a huge save. Nelsinho Cabral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulo Renato Monteiro's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Paulo Renato Monteiro struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Nelsinho Cabral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guajaratuba. Nelsinho Cabral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Renato Monteiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Armandinho Queirós hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. The audience cheered when Paulo José Baptista's long shot passed Nelsinho Cabral's right side. It was 1-0, 69 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcinho Leme in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Duda Magalhães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mateus Maia hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute, Elano Pereira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nelsinho Cabral was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 91st minute, Kiko Marques got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paulo Renato Monteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xambioa's Nelsinho Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Renato Monteiro in the 97th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Guajaratuba fans cheered their team off the field, for while Xambioa had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
