Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nilson Bertassi got the match started through his kick off. Hugo Valladares hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Alexsandro Massa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gugu Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Cléber de Sena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Alexsandro Massa made a huge save. 19 minutes into the match, Marinopolis's goalkeeper Alexsandro Massa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cléber de Sena. If Eliseu Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st match minute, O Pudim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zézinho de Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Marinopolis's Eliseu Sampaio got a free kick in the 31st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ediberto Vianna got free with Alexsandro Massa in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 36 minutes, Eliseu Sampaio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marinopolis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseu Sampaio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rogério Siqueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Doni Barral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexsandro Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edvaldo Braga in the 40th minute of play. Marinopolis's Nilson Bertassi got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd minute, Marinopolis's Charles Neto seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Charles Neto the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Marinopolis protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Charles Neto had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 42nd minute, one of Marinopolis:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Marinopolis. The goalkeeper, Alexsandro Massa, was totally fooled by O Pudim's Zézinho de Medeiros, who 45 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Umberto de Mendonça was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to O Pudim getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Zé Mesquita hit a great ball. Doni Barral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilson Bertassi in the 53rd minute of the match. Hugo Valladares took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Doni Barral. O Pudim's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Nilson Bertassi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute Eliseu Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doni Barral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Marinopolis booed when O Pudim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gugu Damião didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eliseu Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doni Barral having to interfere. Cipriano Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alexsandro Massa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Umberto de Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nilson Bertassi in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Doni Barral, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Cléber de Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Umberto de Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexsandro Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eliseu Sampaio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. O Pudim walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
