Zézinho Campidelis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Club Goldenbats. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

With a little luck, America Star's Zézinho Campidelis got control of the ball when Wágner Dracena tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 79th minute, Perivaldo Proença ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Reynaldo de Amorim was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 84th minute Perivaldo Proença shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo de Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. America Star's Gugu Rossi got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 89 minutes into the match, America Star's goalkeeper Zézinho Campidelis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wágner Dracena. Armandinho Lago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, America Star could leave the field as winners, despite Sport Club Goldenbats having more of the ball for most of the match.
