Spectators: 7169 (Terracing: 5410, Seating: 1659, VIP seats: 100) Marinopolis's Nilson Bertassi started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute, Nilson Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 8 minutes into the match, Marinopolis's goalkeeper Alexsandro Massa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wágner Dracena. If Wágner Dracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reynaldo de Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogério Siqueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the match, Sport Club Goldenbats's goal looked a bit too open when Nilson Bertassi came free, but Reynaldo de Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Sport Club Goldenbats defense, Eliseu Sampaio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reynaldo de Amorim. The Sport Club Goldenbats fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reynaldo de Amorim should have stopped the shot. In the 22nd minute Eliseu Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo de Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gernando Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexsandro Massa having to interfere. Sport Club Goldenbats's Reynaldo de Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseu Sampaio in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wágner Dracena made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Charles Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 55 minutes into the match, Marinopolis's Rogério Siqueira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reynaldo de Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Sport Club Goldenbats getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Nelson Bueno hit a great ball. Reynaldo de Amorim acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 58th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Rogério Siqueira. When Arnaldo Borges fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marinopolis's protests and gave Arnaldo Borges a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 66th minute of the game. One of Marinopolis:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sport Club Goldenbats:s goal. In the 69th minute there was a penalty for Sport Club Goldenbats. Juninho Vianna stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alexsandro Massa. 1-1. Alexsandro Massa came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Sport Club Goldenbats's Gernando Guedes. But to his dismay, Gernando Guedes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Sport Club Goldenbats's Reynaldo de Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Sport Club Goldenbats from getting a goal against them. When Zé Carlos Leão fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marinopolis's protests and gave Zé Carlos Leão a yellow card for diving instead. In the 82nd match minute, Marinopolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Carlos Leão to maneuver through the defense. 84 minutes into the game, Rogério Siqueira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Reynaldo de Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A hard shot by Charles Neto from long distance, 88 minutes into the match, got Reynaldo de Amorim's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Sport Club Goldenbats's Reynaldo de Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilson Bertassi in the 90th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Marinopolis's Zé Carlos Leão got a free kick in the 91st minute. Sport Club Goldenbats were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Marinopolis to leave the ground with a draw.
