Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Perivaldo Proença started the match with the kick off. The supporters of America Star booed when Unidos do Morro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hudson de Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Unidos do Morro's Lucas Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Perivaldo Proença in the 6th minute of play. Perivaldo Proença received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Lucas Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 11 played minutes America Star got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Renato Amaral. Lucas Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinei Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Dedê de Sousa fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored America Star's protests and gave Dedê de Sousa a yellow card for diving instead. Dedê de Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the game, Jacinto Dantas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Unidos do Morro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave America Star the free kick. A collision led to Unidos do Morro getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Jacinto Dantas hit a great ball. In the 20th minute of the match Sidnei Trigo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lucas Luz skillfully saved the ball. Nestor de Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zézinho Campidelis having to interfere. Lucas Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Perivaldo Proença in the 25th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Claudinei Santana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lucas Luz. Unidos do Morro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudinei Santana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Lucas Luz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Perivaldo Proença, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After a defensive mix-up in America Star's zone, Clemente Cunha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zézinho Campidelis came out of the goal and Clemente Cunha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nestor de Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cleiton Sergipano struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Zézinho Campidelis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Unidos do Morro. After 42 played minutes America Star got a freekick which was hit by Wesley Pereira. Nestor de Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dedê de Sousa got his second yellow card in the match during the 46th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Unidos do Morro booed when America Star was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dedê de Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Unidos do Morro players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. America Star were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nestor de Barros was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind America Star's goalkeeper Zézinho Campidelis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gugu Rossi charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gugu Rossi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gugu Rossi kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Zézinho Campidelis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nestor de Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Unidos do Morro's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Claudinei Santana scored to the left of an out of position Lucas Luz, making the score, 0-2. Unidos do Morro's Lucas Luz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Unidos do Morro from getting a goal against them. Cleiton Sergipano scored 1-2 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zézinho Campidelis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Unidos do Morro's Cleiton Sergipano got a free kick in the 69th minute. 72 minutes into the game, Unidos do Morro's Nestor de Barros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zézinho Campidelis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Unidos do Morro's Cleiton Sergipano got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. America Star's Zézinho Campidelis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor de Barros in the 77th minute of play. Lucas Luz came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by America Star's Claudinei Santana. But to his dismay, Claudinei Santana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Nestor de Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Unidos do Morro's Cleiton Sergipano got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Cleiton Sergipano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Unidos do Morro's supporters rose to their feet, but Cleiton Sergipano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zézinho Campidelis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Unidos do Morro's Lucas Luz got control of the ball when Claudinei Santana tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind America Star's goalkeeper Zézinho Campidelis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marcos Custódio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Zézinho Campidelis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Unidos do Morro manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing America Star to win.
