Spectators: 7177 (Terracing: 5385, Seating: 1650, VIP seats: 142) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Aníbal Varela started the match with the kick off. America Star's Zézinho Campidelis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aníbal Varela in the 3rd minute of play. Ivo Severo, 5 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to America Star getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Dedê de Sousa hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, Coastal City S.A.'s Ivo Severo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 12 minutes into the game, Sidnei Trigo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. America Star's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coastal City S.A. the free kick. In the 12th minute, Sidnei Trigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Magno Proença showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinei Santana in the 19th minute of the match. Zézinho Campidelis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arthur Tinoco went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Magno Proença came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by America Star's Claudinei Santana. But to his dismay, Claudinei Santana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Claudinei Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renato Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zézinho Campidelis having to interfere. 46 minutes into the match, America Star's goal looked a bit too open when Aníbal Varela came free, but Zézinho Campidelis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Perivaldo Proença was the one to do the kick off. If Aníbal Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arthur Tinoco in the 60th minute of play forced America Star's goalkeeper Zézinho Campidelis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Arthur Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zézinho Campidelis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aníbal Varela in the 64th minute of the match. Perivaldo Proença sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arthur Tinoco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aníbal Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Magno Proença didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 92nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. America Star were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Coastal City S.A.'s much stronger midfield.
