The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Moisés Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 30 minutes into the match, Vista Alegre F.C's Narciso de Salles sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Noel Veiga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gilmar Maciel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin Dracena having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 54th minute Luiz Paulo Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franklin Dracena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastião da Rocha charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The goalkeeper, Noel Veiga, was totally fooled by Vista Alegre F.C's Delfim Mandrak, who 61 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Franklin Dracena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Paulo Salgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute.
