A collision led to Taderinha getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Didi Barreto hit a great ball. Claudinei Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Cícero Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Afonsinho Antunes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 8thth minute, Cícero Massa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Claudinei Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eusébio Vergílio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cléber Gonçalves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Virgílio Dante kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Claudinei Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 23 minutes into the match, C. R. Flamengo's Afonsinho Antunes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cícero Massa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Celso de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Vergílio having to interfere. Celso de Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Eusébio Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cléber Gonçalves spun around in front of the goal 43 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of C. R. Flamengo's goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Celso de Mendonça was the one to do the kick off. If Cléber Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in C. R. Flamengo's zone, Celso de Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusébio Vergílio came out of the goal and Celso de Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 56 played minutes C. R. Flamengo got a freekick which was hit by Eriberto de Amorim. Celso de Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Taderinha defense, Afonsinho Antunes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cícero Massa. The Taderinha fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cícero Massa should have stopped the shot. In the 65th minute, Claudinei Nascimento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 76th match minute, Taderinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cauan França to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 78 minutes, Claudinei Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. R. Flamengo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinei Nascimento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Claudinei Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 83rd minute, Afonsinho Antunes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C. R. Flamengo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Cícero Massa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinei Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Afonsinho Antunes in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cícero Massa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cícero Massa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcinho Chaves went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. When the referee ended the match the C. R. Flamengo players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
