In the 37th minute Christian Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cícero Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hudson Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero Massa having to interfere. Cléber Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Chiquinho Nogueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celso de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chiquinho Nogueira having to interfere. Cícero Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Corrêa in the 47th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christian Corrêa to make the kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 53 minutes into the game, when Cauan França put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Taderinha fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 53rd minute. Penalty! Rodolfo Cosme shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Cícero Massa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Corrêa in the 73rd minute of the match. Cícero Massa made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Hudson Schmidt sent off a good shot on target. Hudson Schmidt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Lion Azul FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hudson Schmidt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cícero Massa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cléber Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Lion Azul FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
