The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 15th minute of the game. One of Macuripe AD:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SE FREE:s goal. Sílvio Souza went to the wrong direction when Diego Valladares was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. 21 minutes into the match, SE FREE's Diego Valladares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sílvio Souza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Olívio Tróia fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SE FREE's protests and gave Olívio Tróia a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th match minute, SE FREE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olívio Tróia to maneuver through the defense. Sílvio Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olívio Tróia struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Sílvio Souza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SE FREE. Alejo Marko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laércio Abreu in the 40th minute of play. SE FREE's Noel Alagoano was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 43rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Laércio Abreu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sílvio Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedê Lopez in the 53rd minute of play. 56 minutes into the game, Dedê Lopez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Sílvio Souza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dedê Lopez took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sílvio Souza. Laércio Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Alejo Marko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedê Lopez in the 74th minute of play forced Macuripe AD's goalkeeper Sílvio Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
