Afonsinho Antunes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 89thth minute tested the skills of Gonçalo Donatello when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gonçalo Donatello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonsinho Antunes in the 91st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Claudinei Nascimento kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gonçalo Donatello. That made the score 0-5 in the 93 minute of play. Eusébio Vergílio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorian Passos in the 96th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded C. R. Flamengo left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Xexéu F.C.
