The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Enio Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 10 played minutes Lion Azul FC got a freekick which was hit by Lenílson Pires. Chiquinho Nogueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enio Nogueira in the 14th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Enio Nogueira notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Lion Azul FC's Chiquinho Nogueira. Chiquinho Nogueira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lion Azul FC's Christian Corrêa got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gonçalo Donatello came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Lion Azul FC's Christian Corrêa. But to his dismay, Christian Corrêa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Dorian Passos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Chiquinho Nogueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juan Dracena kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After 40 minutes Lion Azul FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Flavinho Damião who took care of the corner kick. Xexéu F.C were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after Lion Azul FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Flavinho Damião took the corner. Flavinho Damião made a great header on Xexéu F.C's corner, it was just that Lion Azul FC's Chiquinho Nogueira managed to reach the ball for a save. Chiquinho Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enio Nogueira in the 43rd minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Dorian Passos made the kick off in the second half. Chiquinho Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorian Passos in the 52nd minute of play. Chiquinho Nogueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorian Passos in the 54th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the match, Lion Azul FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dorian Passos came free, but Chiquinho Nogueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Xexéu F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Corrêa came free, but Gonçalo Donatello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Xexéu F.C getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Elano Baiano hit a great ball. Zeca Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 69 minutes into the game, one of Xexéu F.C:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 72nd minute there was a penalty for Lion Azul FC. Rodolfo Cosme stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gonçalo Donatello. 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorian Passos in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chiquinho Nogueira saved Lion Azul FC from getting behind. 88 minutes into the match, Christian Corrêa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gonçalo Donatello. Xexéu F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christian Corrêa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Flavinho Damião lost his temper 93 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game. One of Xexéu F.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lion Azul FC:s goal. In the 95th minute there was a penalty for Lion Azul FC. Rodolfo Cosme stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gonçalo Donatello. 4-1. In the 98th minute, Rony da Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 100th minute of the match Tadeu Linhares shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gonçalo Donatello showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Lion Azul FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Xexéu F.C for a fine match.
