Eusébio Vergílio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Gomes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, C. R. Flamengo's Eusébio Vergílio got control of the ball when Vicente Meirelles tried to sneak it across the goal line. C. R. Flamengo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Luciano Gomes scored to the left of an out of position Eusébio Vergílio, making the score, 1-0.
