Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Soccorro's Aloísio Seco started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Soccorro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valério Viana to maneuver through the defense. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Soccorro's goalkeeper Benedito Netto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Aloísio Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Soccorro booed when Quintino FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nico Vieira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valdir Arce made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Vítor Fontes sent off a good shot on target. 9 minutes into the game, Sidney Vianna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Quintino FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Soccorro the free kick. In the 11th match minute, Quintino FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Vítor Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. Valdir Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aloísio Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sidney Vianna was shown his second yellow card after 13 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Sidney Vianna kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Soccorro's goalkeeper Benedito Netto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Vítor Fontes came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Soccorro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vítor Fontes couldn't finish the play. If Vítor Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vítor Fontes came free with the goalkeeper in the 29th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Valdir Arce could save by the left post. 31 minutes into the match, Quintino FC's goalkeeper Valdir Arce had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vítor Fontes. In the 32ndth minute of the game Aloísio Seco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Quintino FC's Valdir Arce was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vítor Fontes struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Valdir Arce didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Soccorro. 37 minutes into the game, Aloísio Seco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Valdir Arce was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Quintino FC's Paulo Loureiro got a free kick in the 40th minute. Aloísio Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Vítor Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Soccorro's supporters rose to their feet, but Vítor Fontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdir Arce breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Moreira in the 49th minute of play forced Quintino FC's goalkeeper Valdir Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Betinho Passos was the one to do the kick off. After 53 played minutes Soccorro got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo de Queirós. In the 56th minute, Aloísio Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Aloísio Seco put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Valdir Arce. Bruninho Barral's late challenge caught a Quintino FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruninho Barral helped the player get up and apologised. Bruninho Barral hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Benedito Netto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomás Brodel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Carlos Augusto da Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Soccorro's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Augusto da Silveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdir Arce breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benedito Netto made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when José Vítor Bezerra sent off a good shot on target. Vítor Fontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 87 minutes, Aloísio Seco made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Quintino FC's Valdir Arce tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 96 minutes into the game, Betinho Passos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Benedito Netto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Soccorro walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
