An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitinho Medeiros in the 23rd minute of play forced Quintino FC's goalkeeper Valdir Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute of the match Anísio Gaspar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valdir Arce skillfully saved the ball. In the 29th minute Nilson Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdir Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nilson Rocha made a kick off. Nuno Eger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Betinho Passos in the 57th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thomás Brodel during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vitinho Medeiros in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdir Arce prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Quintino FC's zone, Vitinho Medeiros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdir Arce came out of the goal and Vitinho Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Monjolada SS's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
