Spectators: 7173 (Terracing: 5413, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Vágner Goiano started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute of the match Hugo Pereira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ramiro de Alcântara skillfully saved the ball. In the 8th minute, Vicente Veloso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ramiro de Alcântara was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Albertinho Bastos might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ramiro de Alcântara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Albertinho Bastos ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 14th minute, Vágner Goiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ramiro de Alcântara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicente Veloso in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Team Nexus's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Veloso came free, but Ramiro de Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Vágner Goiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 19 played minutes Team Nexus got a freekick which was hit by Ulisses Netto. Vágner Goiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramiro de Alcântara having to interfere. Vicente Veloso struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Ramiro de Alcântara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ares Empire. In the 40th minute Vicente Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramiro de Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Vágner Goiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ares Empire's supporters rose to their feet, but Vágner Goiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramiro de Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ricardinho de Lara made a kick off. Ricardinho de Lara took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rubens Souto. Rubens Souto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 58 minutes into the game, Fiori Cordeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ares Empire's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Team Nexus the free kick. The supporters of Team Nexus booed when Ares Empire was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fiori Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ares Empire's zone, Ricardinho de Lara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubens Souto came out of the goal and Ricardinho de Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Team Nexus getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Tiago Gabriel Maciel hit a great ball. A hard shot 65 in the game by Vicente Veloso from a close distance when the talented Ramiro de Alcântara managed to make a qualified save. Team Nexus's players were relieved. The supporters of Team Nexus booed when Ares Empire was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fiori Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball.
