With an all-out effort, Atibaia E.C.'s Silas de Queirós threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kauã de Toledo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in Atibaia E.C.'s zone, Sílvio Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Luís Paraense came out of the goal and Sílvio Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Osvaldinho Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Luís Paraense having to interfere. Clube Atlético Serrano's Osvaldinho Perez got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute Sílvio Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Luís Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Sílvio Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Clube Atlético Serrano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sílvio Mendonça couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldinho Perez in the 46th minute of play forced Atibaia E.C.'s goalkeeper Pedro Luís Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Sílvio Mendonça made the kick off in the second half. Fernando Gomes's late challenge caught a Clube Atlético Serrano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The corner led Atibaia E.C.'s Arlindo Neto to fire away a dangerous shot which Silas de Queirós despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some careless play in the Atibaia E.C. defense, Sílvio Mendonça kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Luís Paraense. The Atibaia E.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Luís Paraense should have stopped the shot. Pedro Luís Paraense made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Osvaldinho Perez sent off a good shot on target. Pedro Luís Paraense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sílvio Mendonça's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Clube Atlético Serrano's Silas de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Pedro Paiva in the 86th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Atibaia E.C.'s Vinícius Correia got a free kick in the 91st minute. The Atibaia E.C. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Clube Atlético Serrano's performance. The match ended with a win for Clube Atlético Serrano.
