Tipucu's supporters rose to their feet, but Dino Massa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silas de Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Silas de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dino Massa in the 11th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Natanael Alvarenga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Clube Atlético Serrano's Amadeu Magalhães got a free kick in the 18th minute. When Dino Massa came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Tipucu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dino Massa couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Clube Atlético Serrano's Amadeu Magalhães got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 25th minute Benê Vasconcelos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silas de Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silas de Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benê Vasconcelos, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Sílvio Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Benê Vasconcelos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silas de Queirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. The supporters of Tipucu booed when Clube Atlético Serrano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeu Magalhães didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Dino Massa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Silas de Queirós made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Osvaldinho Perez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Dalmo Rezende made a huge save. Osvaldinho Perez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benê Vasconcelos in the 48th minute of play forced Clube Atlético Serrano's goalkeeper Silas de Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benê Vasconcelos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Benê Vasconcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silas de Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benê Vasconcelos in the 54th minute of play. If Osvaldinho Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Silas de Queirós made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dino Massa in the 63rd minute. When Caio Severo fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tipucu's protests and gave Caio Severo a yellow card for diving instead. After 71 played minutes Tipucu got a freekick which was hit by Caio Severo. 72 minutes into the game, Osvaldinho Perez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Dalmo Rezende was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Clube Atlético Serrano's Silas de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benê Vasconcelos in the 76th minute of play. Benê Vasconcelos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sílvio Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmo Rezende having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Tipucu eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
