Walmir Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldão França having to interfere. A hard shot 8 in the game by Augusto Soeiro from a close distance when the talented Ronaldão França managed to make a qualified save. ZAVIADO's players were relieved. When Walmir Lira came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the A.D São Caetano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walmir Lira couldn't finish the play. Augusto Soeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hermínio Cabral struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Ronaldão França didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.D São Caetano. Walmir Lira spun around in front of the goal 19 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of ZAVIADO's goal. After 20 played minutes ZAVIADO got a freekick which was hit by Davi de Sousa. Augusto Soeiro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ronaldão França firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Luan de Andrade, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 31 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Jean Guerra was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Ronaldão França made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Augusto Soeiro sent off a good shot on target. In a very dangerous position, a player in A.D São Caetano fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 40th minute. Penalty! Jean Guerra had in the 42ndth minute some difficulties stopping Davi de Sousa's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Jean Guerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juarês Mangueira in the 44th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juarês Mangueira to make the kick off. The supporters of A.D São Caetano booed when ZAVIADO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilton Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronaldão França made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Soeiro in the 56th minute of play. Walmir Lira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. A.D São Caetano's Jean Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juarês Mangueira in the 74th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Luan de Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. ZAVIADO's supporters rose to their feet, but Luan de Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jean Guerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 80 minutes, Walmir Lira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.D São Caetano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walmir Lira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the ZAVIADO defense, Walmir Lira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ronaldão França. The ZAVIADO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ronaldão França should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in A.D São Caetano's zone, Luan de Andrade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean Guerra came out of the goal and Luan de Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Paulo Mandrak during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Luís Paulo Mandrak hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. ZAVIADO's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
