The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustavo Nogueira got free with Álvaro do Nascimento in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 12 minutes into the match, Santo Agostinho's goal looked a bit too open when José Pedro Dante came free, but Álvaro do Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caetano Coutinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Atlético Maneiro FC's Caio Sá got a free kick in the 21st minute. With a little luck, Santo Agostinho's Álvaro do Nascimento got control of the ball when Gustavo Nogueira tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 28th match minute, Santo Agostinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Proença to maneuver through the defense. If Caetano Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee showed Gustavo Nogueira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Maneiro FC's zone, João Paulo Monteiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chiquinho de Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Vítor Diniz, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. When Tião Favoretto fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlético Maneiro FC's protests and gave Tião Favoretto a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Atlético Maneiro FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Tião Favoretto hit a great ball. The Atlético Maneiro FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Santo Agostinho were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Pedro Dante to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, José Vítor Diniz fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Atlético Maneiro FC's Chiquinho de Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Vítor Diniz in the 61st minute of play. If José Vítor Diniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the match, José Pedro Dante had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Álvaro do Nascimento. Santo Agostinho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Pedro Dante was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. A hard shot 74 in the game by Caetano Coutinho from a close distance when the talented Chiquinho de Castro managed to make a qualified save. Atlético Maneiro FC's players were relieved. Chiquinho de Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Vítor Diniz in the 75th minute of play. A collision led to Atlético Maneiro FC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Tião Favoretto hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Santo Agostinho's João Paulo Monteiro got a free kick in the 79th minute. Nuno Lopez didn't quite understand what happened when in the 81 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. 84 minutes into the match, Santo Agostinho's goal looked a bit too open when José Pedro Dante came free, but Álvaro do Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Caetano Coutinho came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Santo Agostinho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caetano Coutinho couldn't finish the play.
