Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augusto Soeiro in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chiquinho de Castro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 0-1 became the score in the 19th minute when Walmir Lira elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Chiquinho de Castro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Walmir Lira's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. After having played for 29 minutes, Walmir Lira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 35thth minute of the game Augusto Soeiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Maneiro FC's Chiquinho de Castro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 41st minute, Gustavo Nogueira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlético Maneiro FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
