In the 3rd minute, Perivaldo Pinheiro made a precise shot to the right of Jean Guerra. A.D São Caetano's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltazar Eger in the 7th minute of play forced A.D São Caetano's goalkeeper Jean Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augusto Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Geovani Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geovani Silva came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by A.D São Caetano's Walmir Lira. But to his dismay, Walmir Lira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After having played for 18 minutes, Adriano Camargo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. divino f.c's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adriano Camargo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Walmir Lira was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 21st minute. A.D São Caetano's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 28 played minutes A.D São Caetano got a freekick which was hit by Luís Paulo Mandrak. After a defensive mix-up in A.D São Caetano's zone, Adriano Camargo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean Guerra came out of the goal and Adriano Camargo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adriano Camargo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 31st match minute, A.D São Caetano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hermínio Cabral to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Augusto Soeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. A.D São Caetano's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Soeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geovani Silva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 40 played minutes A.D São Caetano got a freekick which was hit by Hermínio Cabral. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Walmir Lira made a kick off. If Adriano Camargo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geovani Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmir Lira in the 54th minute of play. Augusto Soeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hermínio Cabral got his second yellow card in the match during the 90th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
