In the 31st minute Robinho Xavier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Paulo Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juarês Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enio Salgado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute, Téo Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The goalkeeper, Juarês Martins, was totally fooled by Os Cientistas F.C's Fred Carioca, who 88 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When Renato Maia fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Os Cientistas F.C's protests and gave Renato Maia a yellow card for diving instead. Renato Maia kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Os Cientistas F.C's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
