But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diamantino Custódio couldn't finish the play. In the 19th match minute, BarSemLona Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Velloso to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 20 minutes, Arnaldo da Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saint Martin FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnaldo da Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. BarSemLona Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arnaldo da Cunha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After having played for 47 minutes, Guilherme Paranaense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saint Martin FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guilherme Paranaense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tiago Gabriel Paes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Saint Martin FC got a freekick which was hit by Zé Pedro Abraão. Marcel Perezs short, quick shot in the 54thth minute got Enio de Almeida to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 63rd minute of the match Saint Martin FC got a corner. BarSemLona Futebol Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Frank de Sousa ran over to the corner to take the kick.
