The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gilvan Guerra charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilvan Guerra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Centro de Formação 101A getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Gilvan Guerra hit a great ball. Geovanni Siqueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Sambaqui's zone, Jerônimo Cardoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldir Sá came out of the goal and Jerônimo Cardoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 15 minutes into the match, Sambaqui's Lúcio Gomes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leopoldo Baptista narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Jerônimo Cardoso came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Centro de Formação 101A fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerônimo Cardoso couldn't finish the play. Perivaldo de Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Sá having to interfere. Benê de Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdir Loureiro in the 33rd minute of play forced Centro de Formação 101A's goalkeeper Leopoldo Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benê de Azevedo succeeded in the game's 41st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. The Sambaqui players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Centro de Formação 101A were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Geovanni Siqueira made the kick off in the second half. Isaltino Ortiz's late challenge caught a Centro de Formação 101A's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isaltino Ortiz helped the player get up and apologised. If Benê de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Perivaldo de Lara in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Waldir Sá prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lúcio Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Leopoldo Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Centro de Formação 101A's goalkeeper Leopoldo Baptista, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jerônimo Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Sá having to interfere. With a little luck, Sambaqui's Waldir Sá got control of the ball when Benê de Azevedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jerônimo Cardoso in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Waldir Sá prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Jerônimo Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Lúcio Gomes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sambaqui fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 86th minute, Benê de Azevedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Waldir Sá was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Geovanni Siqueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Leopoldo Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute of the match Kauã Araújo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leopoldo Baptista skillfully saved the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Centro de Formação 101A had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
