FerVentClub's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sambaqui the free kick. When Aníbal Lima fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sambaqui's protests and gave Aníbal Lima a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th minute, Ricardo Andrade reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Waldir Sá. The goal made the score 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Manuel Passos managed to get in a good position for a shot. FerVentClub's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Passos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldir Sá breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 20th minute Ricardo Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldir Sá saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricardo Andrade received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Waldir Sá came out and tried to block the shot, but Ricardo Andrade slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 24th minute. Ricardo Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lúcio Gomes in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alessandro Duarte saved FerVentClub from getting behind.

In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sambaqui's goalkeeper Waldir Sá, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Róbson Vargas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Waldir Sá read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Geovanni Siqueira was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 59th minute. Sambaqui's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Lúcio Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Alessandro Duarte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Sambaqui booed when FerVentClub was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jailson Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute, Lúcio Gomes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Róbson Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Passos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Waldir Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valdir Loureiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alessandro Duarte having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sambaqui's Valdir Loureiro got a free kick in the 78th minute. 83 minutes into the match, Sambaqui's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Passos came free, but Waldir Sá reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84thth minute of the game Ricardo Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sambaqui's Waldir Sá was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ricardo Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Sá having to interfere. After 89 played minutes Sambaqui got a freekick which was hit by Beto Garcia. In the 91st minute of the match Oscar Bernardi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Waldir Sá showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. FerVentClub's Ricardo Andrade got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Waldir Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FerVentClub's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
