Tarcisio Marinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benjamim Barral in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tarcisio Marinho saved Canada from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Canada's Amílton Félix slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Andrézinho Mazza. That made the score 2-1 after 42 minutes of play. After having played for 48 minutes, Alexsandro Figueiredo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexsandro Figueiredo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 59th minute Alexsandro Figueiredo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrézinho Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
