Roberto Lara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Arcion F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Lara came free, but Olívio de Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Dieguinho Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo da Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luiz Porto in the 46th minute of the match. Alfredo da Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juarês Andrade in the 48th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Pedro Luiz Porto made the kick off in the second half. When Ricardinho Falcão came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Ponte Preta TS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardinho Falcão couldn't finish the play. Olívio de Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Lara in the 55th minute of the match. Juarês Andrade's late challenge caught a Ponte Preta TS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juarês Andrade helped the player get up and apologised. Juarês Andrade hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. The supporters of Ponte Preta TS booed when Arcion F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juarês Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dieguinho Sampaio in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alfredo da Fonseca, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ricardinho Falcão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Olívio de Castro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Luiz Porto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo da Fonseca having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Dieguinho Sampaio could shoot a difficult shot in the 90th minute, which Alfredo da Fonseca however easily saved by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Ponte Preta TS's zone, Pedro Luiz Porto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo da Fonseca came out of the goal and Pedro Luiz Porto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dieguinho Sampaio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Alfredo da Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ponte Preta TS's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
